We Finally Made it to the Richmond Night Market!
The Richmond Night Market is a must if you’re visiting the southern part of British Columbia, Canada! Richmond, a suburb south of Vancouver, hosts "the biggest night market in North America" that reflects the rich Asian culture and cuisine found in its city. The market runs Friday to Sunday and Canadian long weekend Mondays from 7pm to 11pm/12am, April 25 to October 13.
The energy was so good and the food did not disappoint! It was easy to find amenities like ATM's (most booths are cash only) and clean bathrooms. There were lots of places to sit or stand up to try different bites. It was easy to get in (we lined up at 6:30pm and got in about 10 minutes after it opened at 7pm). It was very reasonably priced, $7 a person for the regular line or you can skip any long lines by getting the $35 Zoom pass (this is good for up to 5 people or 5 entrances!). There was free ample parking and transit also heads right to the Bridgeport Station nearby.
HOT TIP: Go with a group of people so you can enjoy bites of more things! The portions are large and you’ll fill up quickly or try less without the help of more mouths.

TRAVEL FROM SEATTLE/USA (Don't forget your passports!)
2 PM: We left Burien, our hood about 20 minutes south of Seattle, on the Friday of the Memorial Holiday weekend so extra congested usually.
5:15 PM: We made it to the border in 3 hours, 15 min and that includes a cold brew coffee stop half way up. On a non-holiday or Saturday/Sunday I bet that's even quicker.
5:40 PM: We were through the border! It took us about 25 minutes to cross the border (don't forget your passports!)
6:30 PM: We made it to the Richmond Night Market! Traffic was a tad heavy during this rush hour time but when we pulled into the market parking (Free!) there were only about 30 cars there. There were people directing traffic and where to park.
6:35 PM: We got our Canadian currency from a big shipping crate with ATM's (most stalls are cash only) and looked for a porta potty but couldn't find one. There are plenty of bathrooms inside the market and more ATM's too. You can buy your Zoom pass outside the market for fast entrance, this is helpful before 8pm when the lines are longest. If you line up by 6:30/6:45pm on a busy night you probably don't need the Zoom pass unless you have 5 people OR are planning on returning multiple times.
7:10 PM: We made it inside the market!! If you can, bring a group so you can take bites of more food without filling up because portions can be huge and there is SO much to get into!
8:45 PM: We hit our first wall of fullness and so we went off to check out the games (so many midway carnival style games and more!) and do some shopping (lots of cute stuff to check out!). There are also a few stages with entertainment.
9:25 PM: We got a second wind and got some dessert!
10:30 PM: We spent our last loonies and toonies (nickname for Canadian currency) on cute merchandise and beverages and walked back to our car (our Canadian friends who joined us walked to the Bridgeport Station to head back to Vancouver)
11:35 PM: We made it to the Canadian Border
11:54: We made it through the border in less than 20 minutes!
1:30 AM: We got back home in Burien in less than two hours! Not bad at all. Didn't even use the full tank of gas for the whole trip. There was zero traffic in the evening and we got to soak up that most magical view of Seattle as you cross the I-5 bridge South into the city, wow:)
We can’t wait for Richmond Night Market 2026!!
